BuildLab helps you research, plan, build and test app ideas with AI agents. This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it for us, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google, Apple or GitHub.
- If you request an invite: your email address and, if you add it, what you'd build. We use it only to decide on and send invites, and delete it on request.
- What you put into BuildLab: ideas, notes, answers during onboarding (areas you're into, and what you tell us about your world: work, life right now, who you can reach), your founder profile if you write one, and messages to agents.
- What agents make for you: research, specs, designs, build plans, code changes, and posts you ask them to draft.
- Connections you choose to add: for example a GitHub account, an App Store Connect key, or Bluesky and Mastodon accounts. Their keys and tokens are stored encrypted and used only to do what you ask.
- Basic records of use: agent runs, what they cost, and errors, so we can run the service and enforce monthly limits.
How we use it
- To run BuildLab for you: your agents read your ideas and documents to do the work you ask for.
- To keep your space private: your ideas and everything in them are visible only to your account. Administrators can see who has an account and how much it has spent, not its ideas.
- To sign you in and to send sign-in links, invites and notifications you turn on.
We don't sell your information, use it for advertising, or use your ideas to train AI models.
Who processes it for us
- Anthropic (Claude): agents send the relevant parts of your ideas and documents to Anthropic's API to do their work. Anthropic doesn't train its models on API data.
- Supabase: our database and sign-in.
- Vercel and Railway: hosting for the website and the background workers.
- Google, Apple and GitHub, only if you sign in with them: they tell us your email (and name).
- Services you connect yourself, such as GitHub, Apple App Store Connect, Bluesky or Mastodon, receive what you ask BuildLab to send them (for example code, app builds or posts).
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while your account is open. Ask us to delete your account and we'll delete your ideas, documents and connections within 30 days, except records we must keep for billing or legal reasons. You can also ask for a copy of your data.
Children
BuildLab is for adults. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or in BuildLab before it takes effect.
